Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and blend again. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk and vanilla. Pour into 2 greased 8 inch pans, cupcake pans, or loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. After taking the cake from the oven, it can be dotted with semisweet chocolate chips which will melt from the heat of the cake.
