|
Flour a board or cloth for rolling out biscuits. Set out baking sheet ready to place biscuits for baking. Set oven to 450 degrees.

Cut shortening into the flour until incorporated. Start with 2/3 cup of buttermilk to start. If dough is not wet or soft enough, add more milk until it is the right consistency. Usually will not be more than 1 cup.

Turn dough out onto floured board or cloth and roll to desired thickness. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits and place on baking sheet.

|
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. May require broiling to achieve the desired brownness.
