Combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, chopped pepper, green onion, giner root, 1/4 cup reserved pineapple juice and salt. Mix gently but thoroughly. Form into 4 1/2 inch thick patties.
Grill over medium heat until meat in no longer pink (about 10 minutes, turning once). Baste with teriyaki sauce the last 2 minutes of grilling.
Grill the pineapple slices 5 minutes, baste with teriyaki sauce and turn once. Grill buns to warm them. Top each burger with grilled pineapple slice.
