Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and
sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.
Combine egg and milk and add to flour mixture; to
make a soft dough. Turn out on lightly floured
board or pastry cloth and knead gently 30 seconds.
Roll out to rectangle 1/4 inch thick. Brush with
melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Roll up like jelly roll, sealing the edge. With
sharp knife cut into 14 equal pieces. Flatten each piece under palm of hand, pressing cut side down.
Arrange pieces in a zig-zag fashion in greased 4
1/2x 8 1/2 loaf pan.
Bake at 400 25 to 30 minutes or until golden
brown.
