     Pretzal Strawberry Salad

Category   Salads - Soups - Sidedishes
Sub Category   Holiday Dish
Servings   12 to 14
Preptime   2 hours

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups butter,melted
3 cups crushed pretzals
8 oz.cream cheese,room temp.
1 cup sugar
8 oz .Cool Whip
1 large pkg. strawberry jello
2 10 oz . pkg.frozen strawberries
1 1/2 tsp.vanilla
1/4 cup sugar

Instructions
Melt butter.Crush pretzals.I use my food processor.Much easier than a baggie and rolling pin.Mix pretzals, butter and the 1/4 cup sugar and press into a 9 by 13 pan.Place in freezer while you are starting the filling. Cream the cream cheese and add 1 cup sugar.Beat well until creamy and then add Cool Whip.Spread over crust and return to freezer. Mix 2 cups boiling water with the jello and stir till dissolved.Add the 2 pkg.of frozen strawberries and stir well.Place into the refrigerator.Because of the frozen berries,it will set up quickly.Keep an eye on it as you want to be able to pour it over the filling. Place back into refrigerator and let it set up. You have a choice here when serving. You can cut it into nice neat squares or just stick a large serving spoon into the pan and let folks help themselves. And believe me,they will.
Serving Suggestions
Anytime, any meal.Great year round. Cool and so good.
