     Shoo Fly Cake

Ingredients
4 c flour
2-3/4 brown sugar
1 c butter
pinch of salt
2 c boiling water
1 c molasses
2 tsp baking soda
 

Instructions
Mix flour, brown sugar, butter and salt. Work in to crumbs. Remove and save 1-1/2 cup crumbs for topping.
Combine hot water, molasses and baking soda; mix well. Add 1/2 liquid to dry and mix. Add remaining liquid and mix.
Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Top with reserved crumbs.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
