1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. . In a large bowl sift together flour,
baking soda and cream of tartar; set aside.
2. in a bowl of electric mixer on medium speed beat the
confectioners sugar, salt, butter, egg and vanilla for 2 min.
3. Gradually add the sifted flour mixture and beat for 1 minute or
until well blended. Cover and chill 3 hr.
4. On a lightly floured surface roll out dough to 1/2 inch
thickness. Cut with cutters. Repeat with remaining dough; rerolling
the scraps. Place cookies on greased baking sheet and bake 7
minutes or until edges are slightly golden.
