3 sticks unsalted sweet butter, softened

1 cup confectioners sugar

3 cups flour, sifted

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions |

|
|
Cream butter and confectioners sugar until light and fluffy
Sift flour and salt together and add to creamed mixture
|
|
|
|
Gather into ball, wrap in waxed paper and chill 4-6 hours
|
|
|
|
Roll into 5/8th thickness and cut with cookie cutter
Paint, if desired (mix 1/2 egg yolk with a little bit of water and food coloring)
|
|
|
|
Bake 20 min at 325
|
