Mix all the ingredients and store in airtight container away from heat and light.
To cook combine the mixture with 2 cups water in a heavy covered 1 quart saucepan. Add 1 Tblsp of oil or butter. Bring to a boil and cover. reduce the heat to medium. Do not lift the lid. simmer the rice for exactly 30 minutes.

Leaving the lid snugly in place, turn off the heat and let the rice stand for 30 minutes. Uncover and fluff with a fork. Serve immediately. Leftovers can be frozen for later use.

In this blend your herbs keep on giving. Pour it into a handsome reclaimed jar add a bow or raffia or ribbon and plain rie becomes a festive gift. My friend shared this method of cooking perfect rice with me.
