To make the sauce-
1) Put in your olive oil, tomatoes, 4 leaves of basil, and boil
To prepare the bread- (Preheat the oven to 350)
1) Pre slice the filone bread to 1/2 inch thick slices and do not
cut all the way through the loaf.
2) Cut mozzarella to fit between each slice of bread.
3) Add a drop of pesto between each piece of cheese and bread.
4) Mix together, the rest of basil leaves, shaved garlic slices, and
1/2 tbsp olive oil. Lay this mixture on top of the bread.
5) Bake prepared bread at 350 for 20 minutes.
To finish the Spedini-
1) Add capers to sauce and mix.
2) Pour warmed sauce over bread.
2) Bake for 5 more minutes.
To serve-
1) Serve warm.
