     red velvet cake

Ingredients
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon cocoa
2 tablespoons red food coloring
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
 
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
preheat oven to 350 degrees. cream the butter, sugar, eggs, vinegar, cocoa, and food coloring and beat well. add the buttermilk and vanilla.
combine the flour, soda, and salt. add to cream mixture. beat until well mixed.
pour into 3 9-inch greased and floured pans and bake for 20 minutes.
cool completely. frost with cream cheese frosting and top the cake with walnuts.
Serving Suggestions
top with cream cheese icing and walnuts
