Pop the popcorn and put in large roaster pan.
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Syrup instructions-
combine butter, sugar, salt and corn syrup in sauce pan.
Cook about 5 minutes or until forms firm ball in cold water.
Remove from heat.
Stir in baking soda (it will foam) and vanilla. Mix well.
Pour warm mixture over popcorn to coat all kernels.
Add peanuts if desired and mix again.
Place roaster into 250 degree oven for 45 minutes.
Stir every 15 minutes.
Pour onto cookie sheets to cool.
Store in airtight container.
