2 1/2 cups cornflakes or cereal, crushed (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine shortening and sugar; cream well.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well
Blend in flour, baking powder, soda and salt; mix thoroughly.
Add in dates, cherries and pecans(optional); mix well.
Shape dough into 1 Tablespoon balls.
If desired, roll balls in crushed cereal of choice-adds a good taste sensation.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool on wire rack.
Store in airtight container.
