Fill pot heaping full of apples (lid may not fit at start, but apples
shrink while cooking). Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt over
apples. Sweet apples need less sugar. Cover, cook on high for 1 hour.
Lower heat and cook all day, until thick and dark in color. Stir
occasionally – use mixer at end to smooth out, seal in hot jars.
