     Cornmeal & Bacon Drop Biscuits

Ingredients
1 1/4c. flour
3/4 c. corn meal
1 T. baking powder
1 T. sugar
1.2 t. salt
1/4 c. shortening
2 T. butter, softened
8 slices bacon, cooked, drained & crumbled
1 c. milk
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425. Butter a large baking sheet. Mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar & salt in large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening & butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stin in bacon; add milk, stir just until combined. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls 1 inch apart on buttered sheet. Bake until puffed and light brown.14-15 minutes. Serve hot
