     Dip - Pan Fried Onion

Ingredients
2 large yellow onions
2 tb unsalted butter
2 tb of vegetable oil
2 ts cayenne pepper
1 ts kosher salt
1 ts black pepper
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 c good mayo
4 oz cream cheese, rm temp
 

Instructions
Cut onions into 1/8 thin half round slices. Heat butter and oil in pan at medium heat. Add onions, cayenne, salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat to medium low. Let onions brown and caramelize (about 20 min). Do not overstir to allow for caramelization. Let cool.
Incorporate remaining ingredients (mayo, sour cream and cream cheese) in separate bowl.
Hand chop onions to liking. Incorporate into cream cheese mixture.
