Combine the butter, cream and parmesan cheese in large bowl and mix until blended. Cook the pasta using package directions; drain well. Add the hot pasta to the cheese mixture and toss until coated. Spoon onto warm serving platter. Sprinkle with the basil and pepper.
VARIATIONS- Grilled Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo, grill and slice 4 chicken breasts and toss with the pasta above.
Smoked Salmon Fettuccini Alfredo, add 6 oz cooked frozen peas, 6 oz blanched snow peas, and 6 oz smoked salmon, cut into julienne strips. Add to the pasta above.
Fettuccini ALfredo Primavera, cut up and steam 1 lb of your favorite vegetables and add to the pasta above.
Grilled Shrimp Fettuccini, grill 2 lbs of marinated peeled shrimp and saute 1 lb of sugar snap peas. Toss both with pasta above.
