     Mexican Chip Casserole

Ingredients
3/4 c. finely chopped onion
2 T. butter
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can ( 4 oz ) diced green chilies
2 t. cumin
1 t. salt
1/4 t. red pepper
1 pkg. tortilla chips, coarsely crushed
2 c. shredded Monterey jack
 
1 lb hamburger
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. cheddar cheese

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Saute onion in butter untiransparent. Add sauce, chilies, cumin, salt and red pepper. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Layer in butter 9x9 pan; half tortilla chips, 1/2 cheese, 1/2 hamburger and 1/2 sauce. Repeat once. Bake for 2o minutes. Remove from onion and spread sour cream on top. Sprinkle with ceddar cheese. Bake an additonal 5-10 minuts.
