Wash beans and soak over night in water two inches above the
beans. Simmer, covered in same water until tender. ( May use can
beans if desired for quicker cooking time) Add tomatoes and
simmer five minutes. Sauté green pepper in oil five minutes. Add
onion, cook until tender, stirring often. Add garlic and parsley.
Melt butter in large saucepan and saute meat for 15 minutes. Add
meat to onion mixture; stir in chili powder and cook 15 minutes.
Add this to beans and spices. Simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours.
When chili is done add chili peppers. (optional)
