     Tomato Soup Cake

Ingredients
1/2 Cup Shortening,, Mom Used Crisco
1 Cup Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 (10 1/2) Ounce Can Tomato Soup
1 teaspoon cloves
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
2 Cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
 
1 Cup Chopped Nuts
1 Cup Raisins (Soak Raisins in Water Before Using)
Frosting
1 Pound Confectionery Sugar
8 Ounces Cream Cheese
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 or 2 Drops Milk to Soften, If Necessary

Instructions
Blend shortening and sugar. Dissolve baking soda in can of soup, will fizz over so place in small bowl. Add to shortning and sugar mixture. Stir in spices, flour, baking powder, nuts and raisins.
Pour into greased pan, it can be a tube pan or 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes, or till toothpick comes out clean. Cool cake.
When cake is cool, Mix together the confectionery sugar, cream cheese and vanilla. Add milk if necessary. Spread frosting on top.
