Cream butter and sugar together. Add vanilla, milk, soda and
eggs.

Mix cream of tarter into 3 cups of flour. Sift into the butter/sugar
mixture.

Add enough of the remaining flour until the dough is firm enough
to be rolled out.
Chill.
|
|
|
Roll chilled dough. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased
cookie sheets. Baste with milk. Sprinkle decorations on raw
dough. (or frost cooled, baked cookies)
Bake at 400 degrees for 8-15 minutes depending on thickness of
cookie.
