Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. In a large bowl mix,
flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt and pepper.
Add 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. toss. In
small bowl whisk milk and egg. Add to flour
mixture with butter and oregano. Mix just to
blend. Spoon into greased muffin pan. Sprinkle
tops with remaining cheese. Bake for 20-25
minutes or until springy to the touch and tooth
pick inserted comes out clean.
