Pre Heat oven to 350
Combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in 1.3 cup butter until crumbly.
Beat egg with vanilla. Stir into flour mixture, blend well. Press
mixture evenly and firmly into greased 9 in. pan. Sprinkle almonds
over.
In small saucepan, comine remaining butter and sugar. Bring to a
boil, stir constantly for 1 minutes. Pour over almonds. Bake 20 min,
then cover immediately with chocolate chips. Spread lightly with
knife.
