Ingredients
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate( or substitute see below)
2/3 cup shortening
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts(optional)
 
Chocolate substitute-3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon oil or 1
Tablespoon of shortening.
Melt butter or shortening. (I use microwave). 2 Stir in cocoa until dissolved. 3 Use one batch PER
1 ounce of chocolate needed.

Instructions
Grease 13X9X2 inch pan. Melt chocolate and shortening together in large saucepan over low heat.
Remove from heat and add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix.
In another bowl mix flour salt and baking powder.Mix. Add nuts if desired. Mix. Add to first ingredients in saucepan. Mix.
Spread onto pan. Oven at 350 degrees.Bake 30 minutes or until tested done. Cut into how many servings desired when cool.
Serving Suggestions
with ice cream while warm is good.
