     Apple Cake with Caramel Buttercream Icing

Ingredients
Caramel Sauce-
1.5 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
1.5 cups heavy cream
Cake-
4 Cups Flour
2tsp Baking soda
 
1tsp baking powder
1tsp salt
2tsp cinnamon
1tsp ground cloves
1tsp ground allspice
1.5 cups unsalted butter
2.5 cups sugar
2 large eggs
4 cups applesauce

Instructions
Caramel sauce- In a saucepan combine sugar and syrup with .5cup water. Cook med heat while stirring until sugar dissovlves. bring to a boil. cook for a few min and remove pan from heat. add butter and heavy stir until combined.
Cake- 325degree oven. Grease and flour 3 8in round cake pans. In med bowl combine flour, soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves. In a seperate bowl, cream the butter and sugar with hand mixer until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix until combined. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the applesauce, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Divide batter between pands and bake for 40-45 min.
Icing(Caramel Buttercream)- About 4-6 cups powdered sugar 1 stick unsalted butter 1tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup prepared caramel sauce Mix ingredients with a hand mixer. Add more powdered sugar to reach desired consistency.
