Preheat oven to 350°C. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Cut shortening into flour mixture using a pastry blender. Make
sure the mixture resembles fine oatmeal. Gradually add milk to lour mixture until a dough forms. On a floured surface, roll out dough until 2cm thick. Cut out biscuits using a small glass. Place biscuits on a greased cookie sheet. Gather scraps of dough and continue to make more biscuits. Cook 20 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown in colour.
