1/4 cup HARD RED WHEAT BERRIES or can subsitute 1/4 cup more rice or buckwheat as desired
1/4 cup BUCKWHEAT
SALT
1 quart cooked RED BEANS (Anasazi)
1/4 cup HATCH CHILI PEPPERS
Instructions
Cook all grains except the buckwheat for 45-60
minutes before adding the rinsed buckwheat.
Buckwheat cooks much faster than the rick and
only need about 30 minutes of cook time. When
the rice mix has absorbed almost all of the
moisture, add your beans and peppers.
Author Note- If you want to use your Crock Pot, you
can do all ingredients at the same time, but the
buckwheat will get more mushy and act as a
thickener. Experiment with the basic recipe and see
what you like. Hot sauce is great with this.
