Heat oven to 400°, then reduce to 325°. Cream
butter and sugar. Add eggs, mix well. Add flour
and baking powder, mix well. Add flavoring and mix
well (dough will be soft). Flour hands and board
and roll 1/4 inches of dough into log shapes,
flatten a little. Bake at 325° until slightly
colored (maybe 20 minutes). Take out and cut in
slices. Separate slices on cookie sheet and bake
for 15-20 minutes until desired brownness.
