core, peel, halve and then quarter apples and thinly slice
In a bowl combine brown surger, cinnamon,lemon juice and add apples-toss/shake gently to cover apples in this mixture
Line a flat baking tray with baking paper
Place a pastry sheet on the baking paper. Spoon apple mixture into the middle of the pastry, leaving 5cm arounbd edge of pastry.
Sprinkle crumb topping over apples
Fold up the edge of the pastry into the centre, pinching at about every 5cm interval, until all the pastry is folded in making a case for the pie.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until apples are tender and pastry is golden brown.
Serve with custard and ice cream.
