     German Sausage Chowder

Ingredients
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 cups beef stock
3 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
4 cups cabbage, shredded
3 cups milk
1 pound polish sausage, sliced
1 cup swiss cheese, shredded
 

Instructions
Saute onions in butter until tender. Add beef stock and potatoes and simmer for 15 minutes. Add cabbage and milk. Simmer 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer until hot. Season to taste. Serve with pumpernickel bread and beverage of choice.
