In a small mixing bowl, use your hands to combine turkey and sauce. Portion the meat into 4 equal burgers; roll each into a ball. Using your thumb, create a well in the center of the ball. Place cheese in the middle and fold the meat over the top. Seal edges so no cheese is exposed. Flatten patties into bun-sized discs.

Heat a sauté pan over medium-high heat. cook burgers, letting them for a crust on bottom. Flip over and sear the other side. Cover, reduce heat to medium and finish cooking until they reach a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees. Meanwhile, toast buns, slice tomatoes and onions and clean lettuce. Serve on whole-wheat buns. Refrigerate any leftovers
