Combine 1 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and ginger in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir constantly. Dissolve corn starch in ¼ cup water and add to sauce while stirring. Stir until sauce thickens. If the sauce is too thick, add more water. If it is too thin after bringing to a boil, add 1 Tbsp corn starch to enough cold water to mix and add. Bring to a boil.
