Pour 2 cups of boiling water over 2 cups of 100% Bran cereal. Let stand.
In a large bowl mix together sugar, oil, eggs, and buttermilk. Add to mix flour, bran buds, baking soda, and soaked bran.
Bake in greased muffin cups (yes you need to use a little spray in the bottom on each liner) at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Mixture will hold in fridge for 2 weeks in airtight container. Whole recipe makes close to 72 muffins.
