     Custard Bars

Ingredients
CRUST
1 cup water
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour
4 eggs
CUSTARD
2 small boxes instant vanilla pudding
8 oz cream cheese
 
12 oz Cool Whip
Chocolate syrup

Instructions
CRUST- Combine first three ingredients, bring to boil, reduce heat and briskly beat in flour. Remove from heat, adding eggs one at a time, mixing after each. Spread on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Flatten crust while still warm and allow to cool completely.
CUSTARD- Allow cream cheese to soften. Prepare both boxes of pudding as directed on package (for thicker custard use less milk). Little by little, mix prepared pudding into softened cream cheese. Spread over cooled crust.
Allow Cool Whip to defrost and soften slightly. Spread over custard mixture and drizzle chocolate syrup over top.
