1 1/2 c sugar
|
| |
1 c shortening
|
| |
1 large egg
|
| |
1 t vanilla
|
| |
1 c buttermilk
|
| |
1 t baking soda
|
| |
3 1/2 c flour
|
| |
2 t baking powder
|
| |
1/4 t salt
|

Instructions |

|
|
Cream sugar, shortening, egg, and vanilla.
|
|
|
|
Combine buttermilk and baking soda and stir into creamed ingredients.
|
|
|
|
Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt (if shortening wasn't salted)
|
|
|
|
Drop on greased, floured cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugars. Bake 10-15 minutes in 350 degree oven.
