     Split Pea Soup with some spice - Crock Pot method

Ingredients
2 C. ham diced in cubes you are comfortable with
3 -4 carrots - sliced
2 med. white onions - chopped small
2 Tbl. garlic - minced
1 lb. dried green peas
1 Tbl. Thyme
1 Tbl Oregano
3 Bay leaves
2 Tbl butter
 
4 C water
4 C. Chicken broth
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 Tbl (heaping) curry powder
3 med. potatoes - cubed
-- 2/3 C fresh mint or 1/4 C dried
1 tsp Marjoram 3 dried red chilis
1/2 C creme fraiche

Instructions
Clean dried peas and add to crock pot. Pour in water and chicken broth. Mix
Add remaining ingredients in layers, don't mix.
Put temp to high for 5 hours. Turn off the heat and mix well.
Serving Suggestions
Bowl or use as a sauce over rice.
