     All-American Cupcakes

Ingredients
1 package (about 18 oz.) cake mix, any flavor, plus ingredients to prepare mix
1 container (16 oz) white frosting
Blue candy stars
Red string licorice
 
Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 22 standard (2 1/2-inch) muffin cups with paper baking cups.
2) Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups.
3) Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
4) Frost cupcakes; arrange candy stars in left corner of each cupcake. Arrange licorice in rows across remaining portion of each cupcake, cutting pieces to fit. Tip- Blue candy stars can be found in the bulk section of candy stores and some craft stores. If you can't find them, you can substitute mini cnady-coated chocolate pieces or blue candy dots.
