Combine the sugar and evaporated milk in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a full boil. Boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in the margarine. Add a mixture of the peanut butter and marshmallow creme to the sugar mixture. Add the vanilla and walnuts, stirring until mixture loses its luster. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Let stand until cool. Cut into squares.
