Just keep in mind that this recipe works well with a white sauce and white wine
So use what you have on hand
It was a big success with Eric and his buddies
1 16 oz pkg of Penne Pasta
1 27.50 oz jar of Pasta Sauce or homemade
1 lb Italian Sausage or pork or hamburger
1 Cup Portabella Mushrooms sliced or Shitake
1 Cup good Cabernet or Merlot
Parmesan Cheese
2 to 3 Cups Mozzarella
9 X 13 Pan
Instructions
Preheat Oven to 350
Brown Sausage, set aside
Prepare Pasta until done per package directions and drain.
Mix Sausage, Pasta Sauce, Mushrooms and Pasta. Mix Well
Pour into 9 X 13 Pan
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese then cover with Mozzarella cheese. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes.
This can be made a head of time and also freezes well. If it is coming from the refrigerator add 10 to 15 minutes to cooking time. Cook until warmed throughout.
