     Gram's Scallop Chowder

Category   Salads - Soups - Sidedishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
1/2 (5-pound) bag potatoes
1 can chicken broth
1 onion, minced
1 whole clove garlic, minced
butter or margarine
2 pounds bay scallops
1 cup cream
1/2 cup cream
seasoned salt (to taste)

pepper (to taste)

Instructions
Peel and cut potatoes into cubes (like to make mashed potatoes) and place into a medium saucepan. Add broth. Cover and cook over medium until potatoes are cooked.
While potatoes are cooking, mince onion and garlic. Saute in butter or margarine in a small skillet. Add to cooked potatoes. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer on low heat until potato pieces are small and mushy and soup has thickened. Add more milk if necessary.
Note- Shrimp and/or crab may be used as well or in place of scallops.
