     Best Chocolate Frosting

3-4 squares Chocolate
3 T. butter or margarine
4 c. confectioners' sugar
1/8 t. salt
7 T. milk
1 t. vanilla

In double boiler melt 3 or 4 squares Baker's Unsweetened Chcolate and 3 T. butter (or margarine) over hot water. (be sure children are not too close so if water spill they will not get burned.)
In mixing bowl, measure 4 cups sifted confectioner's sugar and add 1/8 t. salt, 7 T. milk, and 1 t. vanilla, blend. Add hot chocolate mixtue and mix well. Let stand a few minutes, stirring occasonally, until of right consistency to spread on cake. Makes enough for two 9-inch layers.
Note: May need a little more or less confectioner's sugar. Do not add all at once. Add a little, blend. Continue with same routine until sugar has been used.

A Baker's Chocolate Recipe. Saved from a box of Chocolate Squares bought in the 1950's. I used this often as my family loved cake.
