1 lb hamburger (or chili meat)

1 medium yellow onion
|

4 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
|

2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
|

1 teaspoon black pepper
|
|
1 teaspoon salt
|
|
1 teaspoon cumin
|
|
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans
|
|
|
|
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
|
|
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Instructions |
|
|
Brown beef with onion and garlic in 5 qt dutch oven or large skillet over med high heat for 5 to 6 minutes.

Add seasonings, and stir to combine, Heat 1 minute.
Stir in pinto beans, broth and tomatoes
|
|
|
Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes uncovered.
Garnish with onion and cheddar cheese.
