Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bring 1/2 bag of egg noodles to a boil. While the noodles are boiling, brown the 1 lb of ground beef adding a little garlic salt to the meat, drain. Once the meat has been drained, add the tomato sauce. Once the noodles are done, drain. Combine the 8oz sour cream and 8oz cottage cheese with the noodles. Combine both mixtures together and pour into a casserole dish. Add shredded cheese on top and then bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
