     Kartaeffel Mit Glaze

Ingredients
3 medium potatoes
6 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup light cream - can use sour cream
2 cups flour
4 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
 
7 teaspoons cold water

Instructions
Peel and cut potatoes into cubes. Cook 20 minutes in boiling salted water. As potatoes are cooking, in small saucepan cook 1/2 cup chopped onions in 1/2 cube butter 7 minutes on low heat; then add 1/2 cup cream and simmer 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
Dumplings: Beat the eggs, add cold water, salt and flour, mix well. After potatoes have cooked; with a moistened spoon drop dough into boiling water. Cook 5 minutes or until the dumplings float. Drain off water. Poor onion, butter, cream mixture over the potatioes and dumplings.
Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with bread cubes that have been browned in butter.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with pork chops or garlic sausage
