Chop onion coarsely and boil in water till tender. Add broccoli and cook till tender crisp. Add milk and salt and heat. Add thickening and simmer gently for about 2 minutes. Fold in cheese and pour into casserole dish. When ready to serve cover casserole with buttered bread crumbs. Heat at 350 for about half an hour or until bubbly on sides and golden brown.
