     Beijing Beef

Ingredients
3/4 lb flank steak, sliced into thin strips (pork works too)
6 tbsp cornstarch
oil for frying
MARINADE
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp garlic powder
 
red pepper flakes to taste
SAUCE
4 tbsp water
2 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp chili sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce

Instructions
Cut meat into thin strips or cubes. Mix with marinade and refrigerate at least 15 minutes
Heat ingredients for sauce and bring to a boil. Add 1 tbsp cornstarch then simmer.
Coat beef with 6 tablespoons cornstarch (i like to shake it in a bag or tupperware). Deep fry and remove to paper towel. Leave 2 tbsp of oil in the pan and stir fry any desired vegetables. Stir in the beef. Pour the sauce over everything and stir.
Serve over fried rice or chow mein noodles.
