     Beef with Mushrooms and Red Wine Gravy

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs. beef stew meat well-trimmed and cut into 1 in. pieces
2 medium onions cut into 1/2 in. wedges
8 oz. pkg. fresh sliced crimini mushrooms
1.1 oz. envelope of beefy onion soup mix
3 tbsp. cornstarch
salt and pepper to taste
1 c. dry red wine
1/2 c. 50 % lower-sodium beef broth
 

Instructions
Place beef, onions, and mushrooms in a slow cooker. Sprinkle with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Pour wine and broth over all. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hrs. or high for 4-5 hrs. Stir well before serving.
