colander
liquid measring cup
medium pot
dry measuring cup (1cup)
wooden spoon
4 dinner plates

ladle
1 teaspoon salt
one 8 ounce package angel hair pasta
1 stick butter
1 cup half and half
1 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
broccoli

Instructions
Fill the large pot half full with water. Add the salt. With an adult helper nearby, put the pot on the stove and bring water to a boil. Break the pasta in two and add it to the boiling water. Stir with the fork. Let the pasta cook for about 4 minutes, then lift one piece out with the fork and taste it. If it is tender, let your adult helper drain the pasta in the colander in the sink. Save a cup of the pasta water in the measuring cup.
In a medium pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add the half and half and parmesan cheese. Add the pepper. Stir with the wooden spoon just until the cheese is melted. turn off the heat.
Put a cup of pasta on your plate. Ladle about 1/4 cup of sauce on top of the pasta and mix it in as you eat. If the sauce is to thick, you can add a little pasta water. you may want to add more sauce, add steamed or cooked broccoli.
