     Lasagna

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 lb bulk italian sausage
1/2 c warm water
1 c sliced black olives
1 pinch basil
2 tsp garlic powder
1 T dried oregano
1 1/2 tsp dried sage
2 tsp ground black pepper
 
2 T minced garlic
2 T dried onion flakes
2 (14oz) jars marinara
1 (16oz) package lasagna noodles
8oz ricotta cheese
1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
1. Brown beef and sausage in lg skillet. Drain grease. Stir in water and black olives. Season with spices. Simmer for about 15 min, stirring frequently. Stir in marinara and remove from heat.
2. Preheat oven to 375
3. Place a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish. Cover with a layer of dry noodles. Spread a thin layer of ricotta over the noodles and sprinkle with a little mozzarella. Cover with another layer of sauce and repeat layering ending with the meat sauce on top. Reserve about 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese for later.
4. Bake for 45 min, but check after 30 depending on how thick the lasagna is. Lasagna is cooked when you can easily stick a knife into it. Sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top and return to oven for about 10 min.
