Fill a large pan with water and turn heat up to medium high. The water can be coming to a boil for the noodles while you are preparing your sauce.

In a medium size skillet, brown ground meat until about half way done over medium heat. Add garlic pods and then continue cooking until meat is browned, being careful not to let garlic burn.

Drain any excess fat from meat (if there is quite a bit) and add garlic salt, pepper to taste. Then add about 1 tsp of Italian seasoning or 1-2 fresh basil leaves (whichever you decide to use). Mix spices around well in the meat to season. Add the jar of spaghetti sauce and your pinch of sugar (this is your secret ingredient because it tones down that tangy tomato taste). Turn heat down to low and simmer for about 30 minutes. Taste sauce 10 minutes after adding spices to see if it needs any extra salt, pepper, etc. If you ever put too much salt, lay a slice of white break on top to absorb some of the salt.

When your water for your noodles comes to a boil, add the noodles and boil about 10-12 minutes. A good way to test the noodles to see if they're done is to throw them against the refrigerator. If they stick they are not done! When the noodles are done, drain the water and add a little butter and salt to the noodles.
